Is there any benefit to putting a PCIe 4 SSD in a PCIe 3 slot?

Hi, I have not kept up with the NVMe or SSD tech Does having a Gen4 NVMe SSD in a Gen3 slot will limit the performance of the Gen4 SSD?

On the it says PCIESATA does that mean I cant put gen 4 there? At the moment I have a WD PC SN530 PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe installed on slot Gen 4 is faster than Gen 3
